FAQ

The most common questions are answered here.

What are your weekend services like?

Each weekend, you’ll find a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with exciting, contemporary worship and a relevant, encouraging message. You’ll also receive a printed outline for notes that will help you make the most of each week’s teaching. Children are well-cared for in a loving, quality nursery and fun-filled New Song Kids service.

What will happen when I visit for the first time?

If you are visiting for the first time, we will not embarrass you, have you stand up or ask you to give money. We know that many people want to check out the church and be “anonymous” for a little while (and that’s fine with us). Come in, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and see if this is the church for you!

What do I wear to attend your services?

You’ll find everything from casual clothes to suits at our weekend services, so dress however you wish. (We don't care about fashion; we care about you!)

Do you have a midweek service?

Yes and no. We offer a wide-variety of small groups, several of which meet at NSC on weeknights. So be sure to check out our Small Group Directory, choose a group that's right for you and contact the Group leader for all the details. You'll be glad you did!

What about my children?

Children are a top priority at New Song. Our nurseries and classrooms are clean, safe and staffed with loving workers. We offer a dynamic children’s ministry as well as life-changing ministry to students from junior high through high school that we call The Bridge and Project 4:Twelve.

How can I meet others and get connected?

There are many ways to get involved. You can begin by attending Next Steps. Small groups are another great way to connect. In each of these, you can build friendships, learn more about the life of our church and have the opportunity to grow in your faith. We also offer many events throughout the year, such as our annual Amish Dinner and Christmas Banquet, First Wednesday gatherings, Nights of Prayer and Praise and more. All such events are announced during the morning services.

How can I serve at New Song?

Our desire is to see you become a fully-devoted follower of Christ. Next Steps offers the tools necessary to make this happen in your life. From the initial decision to accept Jesus as your Lord to your involvement in life-changing ministry, we will lead you step-by-step from where you are now to where you want to be. Next Steps meets at 9:30 AM on the first Sunday of the month (in the Next Steps room, located just off the lobby).

Why do you have small groups?

Small groups are very important to us. In fact, you haven’t fully experienced the church until you’ve experienced our small groups. Groups allow you to meet other members and develop relationships that will spur your relationship with God. As NSC grows, groups allow us to “stay small” and connected. Groups are available for all ages and interests, so there’s bound to be one that’s just right for you. Again, go to our Small Groups page to see the latest small group directory.

Do you help those in need of financial assistance?

At times, due to emergencies, job loss or unexpected circumstances, people may find themselves in need of temporary benevolent help. We not only understand, but consider it a privilege to help. Jesus came to bring the gospel to the poor and needy, which is our desire as well. Because we receive so many requests for help, we have developed several guidelines to help us determine when we can be of assistance. Of course, our first responsibility is to assist the members of our church family. If and when we have additional resources, we may be able to help those who are not a part of the NSC family, but this cannot be guaranteed. If we are not able to assist you, we would be glad to refer you to other agencies in the Plymouth area that may be able to provide assistance. If you’re in need of financial assistance, please download, print and submit our Financial Assistance Form (forms are also available at our church office). Please understand that we require a minimum of 7 business days to respond to your request. As stewards of God’s provision, this time period allows us to sort through a variety of needs and requests, helping us to be both generous and wise.

Do you allow people to reserve your church facility?

For multiple reasons, including the lack of space, we no longer allow reservations of any kind. However, we can provide you with a list of other locations throughout Plymouth that are perfect for receptions, showers, birthday parties, etc.

Do you offer wedding or funeral services?

We consider it not only our responsibility, but a great privilege to serve our church members during times of celebration as well as times of loss. Accordingly, we offer high-quality premarital counseling to engaged couples as well as counsel for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Although we truly wish we could be available for every need in our community, we simply do not have the personnel to handle so many requests. Accordingly, these services are offered only to our church family at this time.
